Remembering Milton Diamond (1934-2024)
With profound respect, we honor the memory of Dr. Milton Diamond, who passed away on March 20, 2024, at the age of 90.

A visionary in the study of sexual development, Dr. Diamond's pioneering research has significantly advanced our understanding of gender identity and the intersection of anatomy, endocrinology and social influence. His extensive body of work, covering diverse species and deeply influencing both scientific thought, clinical practice and policy, has left an indelible mark on the fields of anatomy and psychology of sexuality.

Dr. Diamond's scholarly and clinical contributions were recognized when he was awarded the WAS Gold Medal Award, the confederation's highest honor, in Singapore in 2015. His tenure as Chairman of the Hawaii AIDS Task Group and his presidency of prominent sexual research societies (the IASR in particular) further underscore his enduring impact on the field.

As we continue to build upon his rich legacy, his insights and dedication to sexual health will remain an inspiration to future generations of researchers and clinicians. Dr. Diamond's distinguished career and the gold medal distinction are a testament to his exceptional contributions to sexual science and education.
