International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia - May 17, 2024

Today, on May 17th, we observe the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, emphasizing the theme, "No one left behind: Equality, freedom, and justice for all."
While progress is evident—with 11 countries legalizing marriage equality since 2019 and significant advancements in legal protections—the fight against discrimination continues.
Dozens of countries still criminalize LGBTQIA+ identities, underscoring the urgent need for inclusive policies.
The United Nations and UNFPA are at the forefront, advocating for inclusive health and human rights policies, particularly in the context of humanitarian and climate crises.
As global policies evolve, it's crucial to ensure that LGBTQIA+ rights and needs are integral to disaster-response plans.

Human Reproduction Program (HRP) Annual Report 2023
