Celebrating Pride Month: WAS's Commitment to Sexual Health, Rights, Justice, and Pleasure for All
In honor of Pride Month, WAS reaffirms its unwavering commitment to promoting Sexual Health, Rights, Justice, and Pleasure for everyone, including LGBTQIA+ individuals.

Pride Month is a time to acknowledge the achievements of the LGBTQIA+ community, reflect on ongoing struggles for equality, and stand in solidarity with those fighting for their rights and dignity.

At WAS, we believe that everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression, deserves the protection of their sexual rights and access to comprehensive sexual health services.

We are dedicated to advancing these goals through advocacy, education, and collaboration with global partners. In line with this commitment,

The World Association for Sexual Health (WAS) and the European Federation for Sexology (EFS) have issued a joint statement calling for immediate action to promote the Human and Sexual Rights of transgender and gender-diverse individuals. They urge national stakeholders to ensure the availability, accessibility, and affordability of transgender healthcare, and to eliminate conversion therapy for trans and gender-diverse individuals.

Positive Relationships: Pride Month and World Sexual Health Day 2024
This year, the theme for World Sexual Health Day on September 4th is "Positive Relationships."

Positive relationships are essential to our overall well-being and Sexual Health, and they come in many shapes and sizes, each unique and special in its own way. We encourage you to start planning how to get involved and positively impact your community.

Together, we can raise awareness, reduce stigma, and improve access to essential Sexual Health resources.

World Sexual Health Day has been celebrated in 60 countries with activities ranging from round table discussions to conferences and art exhibitions. WAS aims to ensure that Sexual Health issues are discussed everywhere, from schools to public squares.
